WhatsApp Web unter BlackBerry 10 verwenden

WhatsApp stellte gestern eine Web-Variante des beliebten Messengers vor. Mit WhatsApp Web wird es euch möglich, WhatsApp auf eurem Desktop im Browser zu verwenden. Erforderlich ist dafür allerdings der Einsatz des Google Chrome Browsers. Die Funktionsweise ist dabei fast ähnlich zu BlackBerry Blend. Ich bin gespannt, ob wir vielleicht in Zukunft auch eine Integration von WhatsApp in BlackBerry Blend direkt sehen werden. WhatsAppWeb funktioniert übrigens auch mit BlackBerry OS 7 Geräten. Die einzige Plattform, die momentan nicht unterstützt wird ist iOS.

Alles, was ihr tun müsst, um WhatsAppWeb zu verwenden ist die URL https://web.whatsapp.com/ aufzurufen. Dort wird euch ein Barcode präsentiert, welchen ihr mit eurem BlackBerry scannen müsst.

Dazu wischt ihr unter BlackBerry 10 in WhatsApp einfach von der oberen Bildschirmkante nach unten und wählt die Option „WhatsAppWeb“. Sollte euch diese Option noch nicht angezeigt werden prüft bitte, ob ihr die aktuelle Version (BlackBerry 10: 2.11.1167.2) installiert habt. Ich selbst habe die App erst gelöscht und dann erneut installiert, danach wurde mir die Option angeboten.

Im Anschluss sollte sich euer Gerät mit der WebApp verbinden und ihr könnt WhatsAppWeb im Browser verwenden.

Sollte eure Datenoption begrenzt sein, empfiehlt sich die Verwendung von WhatsAppWeb in einem WiFi Netzwerk. Ähnlich wie BlackBerry Blend funktioniert auch WhatsAppWeb nur, wenn euer Smartphone eine Verbindung ins Internet hat.

Bereits letzte Woche wurde offiziell bestätigt, dass der beliebte Cross-Plattform Messenger WhatsApp diese Woche für BlackBerry 10 erscheinen wird. Am heutigen Mittwoch ist es dann soweit und die Version von WhatsApp ist für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar. Bitte gebt dem Download noch einen Moment Zeit, es kann manchmal eine Weile dauern, bis er dann tatsächlich verfügbar ist. Vielleicht hilft es den AppWorld Cache zu löschen. Der Link zur App scheint jedenfalls aus Deutschland momentan noch nicht zu funktionieren.

OpenWhatsApp wartet auf Freigabe – demnächst für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar

Eine offene Variante des beliebten Cross-Platform-Messengers WhatsApp, OpenWhatsApp, wurde zur Freigabe in der BlackBerry AppWorld eingereicht und sollte somit demnächst zum Download verfügbar sein. Das bedeutet wir erhalten wohl gleich zwei Clients für WhatsApp auf BlackBerry 10 innerhalb eines Monats. Die native Variante von WhatsApp selbst ist ebenfalls für diesen Monat angekündigt. OpenWhatsApp wurde ursprünglich als WazApp ins Leben gerufen, als angekündigt wurde, dass es keinen Client für das Nokia N9 geben wird. Die App wurde nun in OpenWhatsApp umbenannt und sollte nach der Prüfung demnächst für alle BlackBerry 10 Besitzer zur Verfügung stehen. Mit OpenWhatsApp wird es dann möglich sein, wie gewohnt mit all euren WhatsApp Kontakten zu kommunizieren.

Open WhatsApp ist ein unabhängiger Client, der von einer Gruppe von Entwicklern unentgeltlich, unabhängig von der Firma WhatsApp und als open source entwickelt wird.

Native Version von WhatsApp für BlackBerry 10 ab März bestätigt

Das es eine BlackBerry 10 Version von WhatsApp geben wird wurde bereits auf dem Launch-Event am 30. Januar bestätigt. Bisher blieb jedoch unklar, wann und wie genau der beliebte Cross-Platform Messenger für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar sein würde. Ein Mitarbeiter von WhatsApp hat nun via Twitter verlauten lassen, dass eine native Version von WhatsApp für BlackBerry 10 bereits im März verfügbar sein wird. Schön zu hören, dass WhatsApp nicht einfach die bereits vorhandene Android Variante portiert, sondern sich die Mühe macht eine native BlackBerry 10 Anwendung zu erstellen.

WhatsApp mit neuem UI in der BlackBerry AppWorld verfügbar

Bereits letzte Woche haben wir von der Beta Version berichtet, die mit einem neuen Nutzerinterface daher kommt. Diese Version ist nun auch in der BlackBerry AppWorld zum Download verfügbar und sollte euch demnächst auch als automatisches Update angeboten werden. Das Update lohnt sich allerdings nicht nur wegen dem neuen Interface, denn unter der Haube wurden auch etliche Verbesserungen vorgenommen. Der Startscreen wurde auch überarbeitet und es kann manchmal durchaus bis zu 5 Minuten dauern, bis die Initialisierung der App abgeschlossen ist. Sollte das Update bei euch noch nicht sichtbar sein, dann versucht den AppWorld Cache zu leeren.

Beliebter Crossplatform-Messenger WhatsApp mit Beta Update und neuem UI

Bereits vor einigen Tagen berichtete Mobistack über die Verfügbarkeit einer Betaversion von WhatsApp. Der allseits beliebte Crossplatform-Messenger WhatsApp erhält mit dem Beta-Update eine komplett überholte Nutzeroberfläche die mich persönlich sehr stark an den von BlackBerry Nutzern geliebten BBM erinnert. Neben einer doch erheblichen Verbesserung am Nutzerinterface wurden außerdem einige Dinge hinter den Vorhängen geändert, welche die App noch weiter verbessern sollen.

Nebenbei bemerkt ist die Kettennachricht, welche aktuell kursiert, reiner Hoax und WhatsApp wird neben dem einmaligen Preis für die App selbst auf einigen Platformen nicht kostenpflichtig werden. (siehe WhatsApp Blog) Die Beta könnt ihr euch auf der WhatsApp Beta Seite herunterladen.
