Vor ein paar Tagen haben wir bereits über ein Presseevent von RIM in London am heutigen Tage berichtet. Nun ist es endlich soweit und RIM kündigt offiziell die neuen OS7 Modelle: 9810 Torch und 9850/60 Torch (ehemals Storm 3)  an. Nach den irreführenden Tweets von letzter Woche bekommen wir nun endlich etwas zu sehen. Auf der UK BlackBerry Seite sind die neuen Modelle zu sehen. Damit bestätigen sich nun auch endgültig die Gerüchte um die Vereinigung der Storm Produktreihe unter dem neuen Name Torch.  Die Pressemeldung von RIM findet ihr weiter unten.

Der Blog Tracy und Matt’s, der uns bereits ein schönes Hands on zum Bold 9900 geliefert hat, berichtet von einem offiziellen RIM Presse Event am 3. August in London. Aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach wird es an diesem Tag endlich ein finales Releasedatum des Bold 9900 geben. In England listen einige Onlinehändler den Bold mit einem voraussichtlichen Lieferdatum am 15. August, was aber weder von den großen Mobilfunkanbietern noch von RIM selbst bestätigt wurde. Vielleicht gibt es auch die Chance, dass endlich die anderen neuen Geräte wie der Torch 9810 und Torch 9850/60 offiziell angekündigt werden.

Erst vorgestern wurde auf dem PlayBook ein Update für Facebook veröffentlicht. Gestern gab es dann nur einen Tag später ein weiteres Update, um  Probleme zu beheben, die einige Nutzer beim benutzen der Places Funktion hatten. Also nichts wie rauf mit dem Update und die neuen Funktionen uneingeschränkt genießen ;).

Immer wieder ein Anzeichen für einen baldigen Release eines Geräts ist die Freigabe durch die FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Diesmal wurde der Torch 9850 und 9860 überprüft und erhält die Freigabe. Bisher gibt es trotzdem noch keine offizielle Ankündigung von RIM zu diesen Geräten. Schön zu sehen, dass weitere Hürde in Richtung Release getan ist. Hoffen wir auf eine baldige Ankündigung bzw. besser auf die Verfügbarkeit dieses BlackBerry.

Der bereits seit einiger Zeit in der BetaZone verfügbare BBM 6 ist ab sofort in der Version 6.0.0.125 in der AppWorld zum Download verfügbar.  Einige neue Features sind unter anderem:

  • Termine über BBM versenden
  • Entwürfe für BBM Nachrichten
  • eigene Position senden wurde verbessert
Mehr neue Features des BBM könnt ihr der Pressemeldung unten entnehmen. Der neue Messenger bringt nämlich in der Version 6 viele neue Möglichkeiten für Entwickler mit, die den Messenger nun besser in ihre eigenen Apps integrieren können. Dabei ist es z.B. möglich via BBM einen In-App-Chat zu realisieren. In Zukunft werden wir also mit Sicherheit einige neue Spiele und andere Apps mit BBM-Integration erwarten.
