Achtung festhalten! Mit BlackBerry Blend wurde heute während des Events etwas vorgestellt, dass unserer Ansicht nach riesiges Potenzial bietet. Mit Hilfe von Blend könnt ihr den BlackBerry HUB, BBM und einiges mehr auf eurem Desktop oder Tablet verwenden. Euer BlackBerry kann dabei entweder mit dem selben WLAN verbunden sein, per USB oder auch einfach über die mobilen Datenverbindung, z.B. via LTE. Theoretisch könnt ihr also nun eueren BlackBerry zu Hause vergessen und trotzdem per BBM über BlackBerry Blend chatten. Bereits unter OS 7 gab es Bestrebungen durch verschiedene Tools genau das zu ermöglichen und nun hat BlackBerry diesen Wunsch endlich erfüllt. Doch BlackBerry Blend ist viel mehr als nur BBM am Desktop oder Tablet verwenden zu können. Zu Beginn werden die Plattformen Windows 7 und höher, Mac OSX, Android 4.4 und höher sowie iOS 7 unterstützt. Auch alle Funktionen des BlackBerry HUB können über BlackBerry Blend am PC oder einem Tablet verwendet werden. Wichtig ist dabei gerade für die IT-Administratoren unter euch, dass dabei sämtliche Daten auf dem BlackBerry verbleiben und nicht lokal auf einem weiteren Endgerät gespeichert werden. Daneben bietet Blend ebenfalls die Möglichkeit Dateien von dem verwendeten Gerät auf den BlackBerry zu übertragen oder Dateien von dort herunterzuladen. Euer BlackBerry als mini Dropbox? Kein Problem. BlackBerry Blend ist ab sofort für das BlackBerry Passport verfügbar. Aktuelle Geräte können BlackBerry Blend mit dem Update auf BlackBerry 10.3.1 ebenfalls verwenden. Dieses Update wird wohl gegen Ende Oktober/November verfügbar sein.

Ich warte schon lange auf soetwas. Was sicher noch schöner wäre ist, wenn man das Gerät per USB mit dem PC verbinden würde und ich dann über Blend in die Kontaktliste komme und Anrufe tätigen könnte. Da ich ein Bluetooth Headset verwende wäre das optimal für meinen Job. Man kann nicht alles haben, schreiben über BBM am PC ist eh schon allererste Sahne. Bin sehr gespannt….

2 Fragen habe ich an euch:
1. Gibt es mittlerweile ein Update 10.3.1 auch für das Z30 um auch Blend zu nutzen?
2. Kann man dadurch auch problemlos und einfach über den Amazon App Store Apps runterladen die sofort laufen?
Habe mir gestern ein Z30 neu bestellt, nachdem das Passport getestet wurde und einfach für mich persönlich zu „klobig“ ist. Aber für mich kommt auch zukünftig NUR ein BB in Frage.:)

Zu 1.: Das 10.3.1 Update für das Z30 kommt erst gegen Ende Januar.
Zu 2.: Du kannst auch jetzt schon den amazon-Store verwenden und dir dort Apps herunterladen. Da die Android-Runtime mit 10.3 noch einmal verbessert wird, werden diese dann noch besser laufen.
