Die von vielen schmerzlich vermisste Funktion BlackBerry 10 Geräte über BlackBerry Link mit Outlook zu synchronisieren wird mit dem heutigen Update bereits nachgeliefert. Es ist nun möglich Daten wie Kalender und Kontakte auf das BlackBerry 10 Gerät zu synchronisieren. Das Update wird euch entweder direkt in BlackBerry Link angezeigt, oder kann unter dem untenstehenden Link heruntergeladen werden. BlackBerry hält damit sein versprechen und liefert diese Funktion zeitnah mit einem Update nach. Für viele war dieser fehlende synch bisher ein K.O. Kriterium auch wenn es mitlerweile andere Wege gibt dies zu realisieren.

Auf dem BlackBerry Help Blog wurde ein Artikel veröffentlich, der die genauen Schritte zeigt. Auf die Gefahr hin die anfängliche Freude von einigen etwas zu trüben fällt auf, dass es sich momentan nicht wirklich um eine Synchronisation handelt, sondern eher um einen Import der Kontakte von Outlook auf das BlackBerry 10 Gerät. Eine vollständige, echte Synchronisation wird aber in einem späteren Release von BlackBerry Link verfügbar sein.

WhatsApp ab sofort für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar

Bereits letzte Woche wurde offiziell bestätigt, dass der beliebte Cross-Plattform Messenger WhatsApp diese Woche für BlackBerry 10 erscheinen wird. Am heutigen Mittwoch ist es dann soweit und die Version von WhatsApp ist für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar. Bitte gebt dem Download noch einen Moment Zeit, es kann manchmal eine Weile dauern, bis er dann tatsächlich verfügbar ist. Vielleicht hilft es den AppWorld Cache zu löschen. Der Link zur App scheint jedenfalls aus Deutschland momentan noch nicht zu funktionieren.

Welt App für BlackBerry10 jetzt in der BlackBerry World verfügbar

Am 21.01. wurde bereits die Welt App der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt, nun ist sie auch in der BlackBerry World verfügbar.

Die Anwendung ist die wohl schnellste und bestens ausgestattete deutschsprachige Nachrichten-Anwendung für BlackBerry 10. Neben der Möglichkeit die Nachrichten in den einzelnen Ressorts zu lesen, bietet die Anwendung die Möglichkeit, persönlich interessante Themen zu definieren, für die man dann eine Benachrichtigung erhält, sobald es dazu neue Inhalte gibt. Ein nettes goodie bleibt auch eine Kategorie „Top 5“, in der man die aktuell besonders beliebten Themen erkennen kann. Zudem können Artikel für das spätere Lesen bei zum Beispiel schlechter Netzverbindung auf eine Pinnwand heruntergeladen werden.

OpenWhatsApp wartet auf Freigabe – demnächst für BlackBerry 10 verfügbar

Eine offene Variante des beliebten Cross-Platform-Messengers WhatsApp, OpenWhatsApp, wurde zur Freigabe in der BlackBerry AppWorld eingereicht und sollte somit demnächst zum Download verfügbar sein. Das bedeutet wir erhalten wohl gleich zwei Clients für WhatsApp auf BlackBerry 10 innerhalb eines Monats. Die native Variante von WhatsApp selbst ist ebenfalls für diesen Monat angekündigt. OpenWhatsApp wurde ursprünglich als WazApp ins Leben gerufen, als angekündigt wurde, dass es keinen Client für das Nokia N9 geben wird. Die App wurde nun in OpenWhatsApp umbenannt und sollte nach der Prüfung demnächst für alle BlackBerry 10 Besitzer zur Verfügung stehen. Mit OpenWhatsApp wird es dann möglich sein, wie gewohnt mit all euren WhatsApp Kontakten zu kommunizieren.

Open WhatsApp ist ein unabhängiger Client, der von einer Gruppe von Entwicklern unentgeltlich, unabhängig von der Firma WhatsApp und als open source entwickelt wird.

BlackBerry Z10 OS Update nun auch in Deutschland verfügbar

Heute morgen gab es bereits für einige Kanadische Anbeiter ein Update für das BlackBerry Z10. Nach weniger als einem Monat bringt uns BlackBerry damit bereits einige Verbesserungen für das OS. Die Version 10.0.10.90 sollte nun auch für alle die bereits im Besitz eines Z10 sind unter Softwareaktualisierung auftauchen. Da das Update jeweils von den Carriern freigegeben wird, kann es eventuell für den ein oder anderen noch etwas dauern. Für Vodafone Kunden sollte es allerdings bereits verfügbar sein.

Als Hinweis, das OS Package setzt sich aus dem gesamten Betriebssystem mit Treibern für den Netzzugang usw. zusammen. In diesem Falle ist also das OS Package / Bundle 10.0.10.90, währenddessen die OS Version (also das Betriebssystem alleinig) die Version 10.0.10.690 hat

BlackBerry schreibt in einem Blog Post über verschiedenste Verbesserungen. Am wichtigsten sind dabei wohl mehr als 60 Verbesserungen zur Akkulaufzeit. Außerdem soll die Kamera bei wenig Licht nun deutlich bessere Bilder schießen.
